Frequently Asked Questions About Travelling to Georgia with Kudu Travel
Georgia, nestled at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, is a hidden gem offering breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and warm hospitality. If you're joining a walking tour with Kudu Travel and have questions about this off-the-beaten-track destination, here are some frequently asked questions that may help you.
Will the walks in the Caucasus Mountains be too challenging?
The Caucasus Mountains provide some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. With Kudu Travel, all walks are carefully planned to suit the group’s abilities, ensuring an enjoyable and manageable pace.
What kind of food and wine can I expect in Georgia?
Georgian cuisine is a highlight of any visit. Expect warm, cheesy khachapuri (a delicious bread filled with melted cheese), flavourful khinkali (dumplings), and rich, slow-cooked stews. If you enjoy wine, Georgia is the birthplace of winemaking, with a tradition dating back over 8,000 years. We include visits to traditional wineries in the Kakheti region, where you can sample unique, naturally fermented wines in a relaxed and guided setting.
What will we explore in Tbilisi?
Tbilisi, the capital, is a city where history and modernity blend seamlessly. We explore the city on the first few days of our tour, first seeing the fortress of Narikala, then walking down through the restored caravanserai area with its carpet shops, traditional baths, mosque, synagogue and 13th century Metekhi church. We also visit the outdoor Enthographic Museum, the National Museum and the National Gallery.
How will we be getting around?
With Kudu Travel, all transport is arranged for you, ensuring a comfortable and seamless journey. Private vehicles are used for longer distances, so you can focus on enjoying the scenery and cultural experiences without the stress of navigating transport on your own. Your knowledgeable guides will also be on hand to assist with any questions or requests throughout the trip.

‘In two weeks we were able to see a large proportion of this diverse and fascinating country. Both our tour guides were professional, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble. They looked after us not only as a group but also as individuals. We greatly enjoyed our holiday.’
‘I feel very grateful to have visited Georgia before mass tourism spoils it irrevocably. There’s still a wildness there which has not been tamed and therein lies much beauty.’
